How to pack your website in a .zip archive
To upload your website using WebGuard hosting control panel file manager, you need to pack it in a .zip archive. This can be done in several ways:
1. Using Microsoft Winows OS standard utilities
To pack data into archive using MS Windows standard utilities, follow these steps:
- Select files you want to pack in an archive.
- Riht-click any of the selected files with your mouse. By default, archive you'll make will have the same name as the file you click. You will be able to rename archive after its creation.
- Choose Send -> Compressed ZIP-folder in the context menu.
- A zip-archive (file with .zip extension) will appear in same folder as files.
2. Using WinZip software
To use WinZip software, you need to have installed on your PC. To pack data in an archive using WinZip software, follow these steps:
- Select files you want to pack in an archive.
- Riht-click any of the selected files with your mouse.
- Choose Add to Zip in the context menu.
- Add window will appear. Enter path and name for a new archive in Add to archive field. By default archive is created in same folder as files.
- Click Add button in the top-right part of the window.
- A Zip-arhive has been created at the specified location. Close WinZip window.
3. Using WinRAR software
To use WinRAR software, you need to have installed on your PC. To pack data in an archive using WinRAR software, follow these steps:
- Select files you want to pack in an archive.
- Riht-click any of the selected files with your mouse.
- Choose Add to Zip in the context menu.
- Specify path and name for a new archive in Archive name and parameters window. By default archive is created in the same folder as archived files and will have the name of that folder.
- Specify archive format in Archive formatblock:
- ZIP (format prefered by Kaspersky Laboratory).
- RAR.
- Click ОК button in the lower part of the window.
- An archive has been created at the specified location.
