[OLD] Moving your website to WebGuard.Pro hosting
If you have decided to move your website to WebGuard hosting, you can follow instructions below. As an option, you can also use our free website transfer service.
1. First you'll need to prepare website archive (php scripts, static files) and MySQL database dump for transfer.
2. Now we need to make a new user account. Enter WebGuard hosting control panel as administrator (administrator access data will be sent to your e-mail automatically after you register in our billing system).
If it's your first time creating a user, it's adviced to make a new user template in "Template" section with standard settings to be your default:
- Name - Default
- SSI - checked
- PHP as Apache module - checked
- PHP in safe_mode - not checked
- Disk - at your discretion
- WWW domains - 1
- PHP processing - PHP as Apache module
- All other parameters may be set to max values
3. With a template set, now you only need to fill in first page. It is important to select the template you've created, website address and ip address (one of available ones from the list). You will need to remember user name and password to proceed.
4. Log in with new user credentials. You'll be using the same username and password to access you account files via SFTP.
5. Upload website files via SFTP to www/website_address folder;
6. Now you'll need to create a database for your website. Remember its login and password. You will be able to see full name of the database in hosting panel after you create it. MySQL username is constructed in the same way;
7. Follow PhpMyadmin link in hosting panel, then enter login and password you've saved when you created new database. After authorization select your base in the left panel and click "Import" section. There you'll be able to import your database dump from website archive (usually file with .sql extension);
8. Then you'll need to specify database connection parameters in your cms configuration file. That would be, as an example, configuration.php for Joomla and wp-config.php for Wordpress. Those files can be opened in any text editor;
9.Depending on your CMS, you may need to specify full filepath to your website on server. You can make one using this pattern: /var/www/sftp-login/data/www/website-address, if you substitute sftp-login and website-address with your data.
